To mark International Women’s Day this year, GFMD members are calling upon media leaders around the globe to stand up and protect the rights of female journalists, both staff and freelance. 

On 21 March 2019, GFMD and its members will host a media development panel as part of the NGO CSW63. The event titled, ‘Does the online space allow women in media to challenge stereotypes and misrepresentation?’ will be held in New York. The discussion panel aims to explore the ways in which women are harnessing online spaces to challenge the stereotyping and misrepresentation that is present in traditional media.
